The decision to build a home versus buying a home can only be made according to individual circumstances and preferences.  Home buyers that set out to purchase a new existing home may be disappointed with the available selection since most developers and builders have had to slow down or completely stop production altogether since the Real Estate/housing fall.

This means home buyers looking for a new home will need to contract with a builder or developer to build their home from ground up and probably provide the immediate financing for the construction called a “Construction Perm Loan”. This works with either a home site that is currently owned by the builder/developer or shopping on your own for a suitable home site to purchase.

Hartsfield Construction has several developments with home sites available for custom home construction and we offer computerized home design. We can also provide consulting for any home site that is being contemplated for purchase, before the purchase is made.
 
Computerized Home Design Service -
 
This is key, because the home site should match the home plan and the cost of building on a particular home site will need to be determined by an experienced builder that has knowledge of land grading and the different foundations that are used to suit the land.
 
Homesite Reviewing & Consulting -
 
In most cases there is no fee for this type of consultation. Once the land is approved, a draft home plan can be designed, and specifications discussed, an estimate with detailed break down of each specific cost and allowance is created for the home owner to review. This all can be done before any commitment or purchase of land is made.
